The Mediterranean Boat People Crisis Is Starting To Dominate Everything.

No comment necessary (Image source)

It’s getting crazy. We have the hand – wringing, breast beating, clothes rending, wailing gnashing teeth, do gooders of the guilt addicted left saying we must do more to help immigrants get across the Mediterranean to Europe.

We have clueless politicians dithering, and we have UKIP talking sense, Cameron talking bollocks, Miliband dancing to The Mad Wee Hag’s tune already and Katie Hopkins grabbing more attention than she deserves thanks to mainstream media misreporting her comments and the idiotic left going into one of their now several times daily Two Minutes Hate sessions.

Today however, in a Daily Telegraph thread, i read a very pertinent comment that deserves wider circulation. I have no way of confirming that the author is genuine, or that the comment is factually accurate. It seems however to be borbe out by what I have seen on television and read in mainstream and alternative media relating to the current crisis.

Comment from:
Sguest, 22 April, 2015 in The Daily Telegraph.

I am a part owner of a business in Egypt that builds boats for use on the Red Sea for tourism.

In 2005 we employed a carpenter who said that he had been working in Libya building the flimsiest of wooden boats for use by people smugglers. He said that such boats were sailed to Italy where the boats and the people were abandoned. The smugglers escaped because they bribed the Italian coast guards to let them go free. (Our new employee didn’t last long because, hardly surprisingly, the standard of his work left much to be desired).

This is something that has been going on long before Qaddafi was deposed but nowadays the scale is much larger because there is so much money to be made. I have heard that the migrants have to scrape together as much as £2,000 each, at least some of which seems to come from relatives already in Europe.

I actually met a Tunisian who paid a similar amount and turned up with many others to board a boat. The boat never turned up and they all lost their money.

The smugglers are not just the ones who put these people onto boats in Libya but also the ones who enable the migrants to leave their own countries and travel overland to the Libyan coast. Many of them have to cross other countries to get to Libya. For examples, Eritreans have to cross Sudan.

The smugglers are the worst of criminals – murderers and thieves, at least, and every effort should be made to capture and punish them ruthlessly.

*******************

Those comments just about sum it up, the wailing and gnashing of teeth about how we should let the migrants into Europe are only encouraging more to put their lives into the hands of the ruthless crimilals who deal in human contraband. The hand wringing lefties are not helping poor Africans and refugees, they are killing them. Well done guys, another own goal by the wailing, gnashing teeth side.

So maybe Katy Hopkins was onto something, she did not actually say send gunboats to blow the litle craft overloaded with migrants out of the water, so the screeching lefties have no more idea than you or I what was in her mind (I suspect £ signs were somehow involved).

To talk of “sending a gunboat” is however a reference to british Foreign Policy of the Pax Brittanica era prior to World War One, called by historians Gunboat Diplomancy. Whenever the natives got restless Britain would send a few gunboats to blockade their trading ports.

Similarly we could now do the same with Libya, pending restoration of stable government there, but aresting crews and impounding boats whose business could not be proved legitimate and in the case of overloaded migrant boats, taking the passengers to safety. Simples, but as always with the left, they are too quick to hate, too slow to think.

Europe In Crisis About The Mediterranean Boat People
The intervention in Libya by western powers France, UK and USA (the FUKUS axis) was morrally and politically wrong as well as being perhaps the most stupid example of balls out politics by an American president ever. To overthrow the leader of any nation, no matter how unpopular he is with other world leaders, is a dangerous game.

The Mediterranean Boat People Crisis – How Does Europe Deal With The Mediterranean Migrant Crisis
The numbers of migrants trying to cross from the Libya on the coast of north Africa to one of the EU’s southern nations is increasing. Europe’s impoverished southern nations can’t cope. And in the better off nations of northern Europe immigration is a toxic issue which is fuelling the rise of anti EU parties from France to Finnland in the north and Hungary in the east. What can be done?

Where Are Grandstanding FUKUS Axis Leaders As Libya Descends Into Oblivion

Remembering a time not so long ago when Libya was being held up by the French, UK and US governments as a striking example of benign and successful military ‘humanitarian’ intervention?

The tyrant Gaddafi (who had the support of over 50% of adult Libyans) had been overthrown by a FUKUS Axis bombing campaign in support of a bloody revolution fought by a rag bad alliance of Islamic Fundamentalists, Tribal Warlords and Common gangsters armed with American, British and French weapons paid for by western taxpayers.

The FUKUS axis intervention in Libya, led by US President Barack Obama, with help from David Cameron and Nicolas Sarkozy as leadsers of UK and France, was an abject failure judged even by the standards of American foreign policy incompetence. Libya not only failed to evolve into the democracy we were told it would become once Gaddafi was gone, it has devolved into a failed state.

Fears a fresh wave of migrants could be poised to leave Libya for Europe mounted on Friday as tales from those who have reached Italy revealed how terrifying conditions have become in the conflict-torn north African state.

Britain Ends Libyan Army Training after Sex Assaults

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced training programme for Libyan troops will be cut short a after reported sexual assaults allegedly involving five of the servicemen. 300 members of the north African basket case country’s armed forces have been based at the Bassingbourn Barracks in Cambridgeshire, since July. This is yet another result of the ill advised military intervention by the FUKUS axis that resulted in the downfall of Gaddafi.

As soon as Obama gets one new war he wants another.

It was only two days ago Barack Hussein Obama went on tlevision to pitch his latest was to the American people. Contrary to what our ideologically idiotic leftie friends might tell you, America is not overwhelmingly in favour of Obama. Those who never supported him or feel the warmonger In Chief has betrayed them are not “a few right wing nut jobs who believe God created the world 4,000 years ago,” but actually about 50% of Americans with a a further significant minority believing Obama is well intentioned but even more clueless than Jimmy Carter.

Also contrary to what our ideologically idiotic leftie friends might tell you, Americas are not stupid even if their President is. They know a war against ISIS can never be won and cannot even succeed in checking the advance of the Islamic State forces without boots on the ground. And America has no desire for another war.

Obama is a solipsist however, and thus is as detached from reality as Tony Blair was. Already he is working on starting another war. Or to be exact, restarting another failed war.

Even as their heads are still reeling from the earbashing they took when Britain and Germany when they held out the begging bowl for support in a new war in Iraq and Syria, America’s Dumb and Dumber team, Barack Obama and John (Herman Munster) Kerry are trying to seduce Algeria into allowing The Evil Empire to set up bases within its borders from which to attack Libya.

Reintervention: Algeria considering US, France request to ‘facilitate’ Libya military strikes

from stratrisks.com

Algeria is reportedly studying requests by the US and France to “facilitate” military operations against militant groups in neighbouring Libya.

“The US and France have both asked Algeria to open its airspace to surveillance planes and other military planes transferring commando units for a reconnaissance mission in parts of Libya,” the source, requesting anonymity, told Anadolu Agency.

He added that the US and France have made the same request of “other states near Libya.”

Interesting to note that although it may be nothing but a rumour, one news report today said the assessors of the Nobel Peace Prize let it be known they regretted giving the peace prize to Obama. I think that’s a bit harsh, he has worked tirelessly to achieve peace … by killing every fucker in the world.

Life In Libya Worse Than Under Gadaffi Say Evacuees

gaddafi libya
Muammar ‘Mad Dog’ Gaddafi maintained a brutal kind of social order in Libya

Occasionally we have the great good fortune to stumple upon a fully paid up, card carry member of the Idiots Association. There’s one visits my threads occasionally, usually announcing that he ‘works in a university’ as if that make his opinions more valuable than those of us who live and work in the real world and deal with its harsh realities every day, rather than spending our lives cocooned in the embrace of a cloistered environment.

His most recent contribution was to accuse me of being gullible enough to believe Russian propaganda about the downing of Flight MH17 over Ukraine. You can see for yourselves that my post What The Media Is Not Writing About MH17 did not say that I believe the Russians, only that I doubt the hastily composed narrative put out by the American Government claiming they had irrefutable evidence that Russia was directly involved. A position that has now been proved correct by the American government’s failure to supply any evidence and actually backing of from their position of blaming Russia. (look at the comment thread to see the guy wrigging rather than admit he’d been wrong again.)

Apparently the idea that in the absence of evidence there may be more than two possible answers to a problem is apparently too complex for those who work in higher education. We may assume however from this person’s belief that everything is either back or white that he has not heard of Fifty Shades Of Gray.

An earlier intervention from him, on a post in which I justified my opposition to military intervention in Libya by pointing out that the rabble of gangsters and warlords that passed for government after the fall of Gaddafi was worse than when the old Mad Dog was in power.

Our colleague jumped in to say that I could not seriously be suggesting that what existed in Libya under Gadaffi could be called law and order. Well all things are relative (another concept too difficult for the intellectual left)and yes, there was a brutal kind of order under Gadaffi as there was in Syria before the west sponsored a rebellion against Assad).

And what do the people of Libya have to endure now you might well ask?

from AFP via AsiaOne News

Libya is descending into a civil war spiral that is “much worse” than the unrest that toppled its dictator Moamar Gaddafi in 2011, residents fleeing the country said Saturday.

“We have gone through (war) before, with Gaddafi, but now it’s much worse,” Paraskevi Athineou, a Greek woman living in Libya, told AFP.

“Chaos reigns. There is no government, we have no food, no fuel, no water, no electricity for hours on end,” she said.

Athineou was part of a group of 186 people evacuated from Tripoli by a Greek navy frigate which reached the port of Piraeus early on Saturday.

In addition to 77 Greek nationals, there were 78 Chinese, 10 Britons, 12 Cypriots, seven Belgians, one Albanian and a Russian.

Among them were several diplomats, including the Chinese ambassador to Libya.

Libya has suffered chronic insecurity since Gaddafi’s overthrow in 2011, with the new government unable to check militias that helped to remove him and facing a growing threat from Islamist groups.

“So many people died to make the country better. But now we started killing each other in a civil war,? said Osama Monsour, a 35-year-old employed at a non-governmental organisation in Tripoli.

Fighting between rival militias in Tripoli has forced the closure of the city’s international airport, while Islamist groups are also battling army special forces in the eastern city of Benghazi.

“War is in the city… and we civilians are under fire from both sides,” Athineou said.

“It is worse than 2011,” said Ali Gariani, a Libyan married to a Greek woman.

“That time were were being bombed by NATO. But now we are being bombed by the Libyans themselves, and that is really shameful,” he said.

As always I was right. Sadly with mainstream news media in the west becoming more of a government / corporate propaganda machine with every week that goes by, it often takes a while for events to prove me right.

So I wonder how many Libyans will have to die before our leftie friends will climb down off their high horse, start blaming the FUKUS axis and taking it leading from behind’ Obama for this mess. When they have done that they can admit they were wrong and then fuck the fucking fuck off back to their ivory towers, leaving the thinking to grown ups.

Lawless, Leaderless Libya Becoming Terror Hub
As the French government calls for international action to halt the development of Libya, a failed state since Gadaffi was deposed, as a hub of international terrorism, we wonder when western leaders will learn that all their interventions so far, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Ukraine, Mali, South Sudan etc. have caused far bigger problems that the ones they hoped to solve.
Another Obama Sponsored Genocide – not Alawi or Christians In Syria but Yazidi in Iraq.

Libyan Legacy Of The FUKUS Axis

When Barack Obama called up the French and British leaders and reconvened the FUKUS axis that had done so much to trash Iraq (which was already in a bad state after a war and ten years of sanctions, the campaign to depose the tyrant Gaddafi went pear shaped very quickly. Coups, gangsterism and terror are the legacy of Nato’s war in Libya.

Almost immediately the FUKUS axis kicked off another campaign of regime change, this time to overthrow they dictator Assad in Syria. No bombing raids this time, Assad was best mates with Russia, Iran and China as well as presenting a more formidable opponent in Syria’s army, air force and navy. Because of this, western involvement was limited to arming and supplying rebels.

Unfortunately the rebels who had been presented as brave freedom fighters who desired only freedom and western style liberal democracy turned out to be savage, brutal, racist human organ noshers. Not good for PR.

The west could not back down however and having seen two attempts to justify military intervention vetoed by Russia and China in the United Nations Security Council, the USA staged a couple of false flag incidents involving toxic gas and sent a flotilla of warships to the eastern Mediterranean. And Russia and Iran stationed their warships off the Syrian coast, foiled a couple of American attempts to hit Assad’s strongholds with missile fire, successfully demonstrating in the process that their surface to air missiles can down a fly from a rang of fifty miles, and said “Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough.”

And the face off continued for a few weeks then the American fleet saied away to be available should the planned regime change in Ukraine descend into nastiness.

And while the FUKUS axis wee failing to cover themselves in glory elsewhere, Libya was festering because it is a crap way of doing regime change to overthrow a government, no mater how nasty and replace it with criminal gangs and tribal warlords.

Here’s the latest news from Libya.

from The Guardian:
Iraq may have been a blood-drenched disaster and Afghanistan a grinding military and political failure. But Libya was supposed to have been different. Nato’s war to overthrow Colonel Gaddafi in 2011 was hailed as the liberal intervention that worked.

The western powers might have had to twist the meaning of the UN resolution about protecting civilians, the city of Sirte might have been reduced to rubble, large-scale ethnic cleansing taken place and thousands of civilians killed. But it was all in a noble cause and achieved without Nato casualties.

This wasn’t Bush and Blair, after all, but Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy. The people were free, the dictator was dead, a mooted massacre had been averted – and all this without any obvious boots on the ground. Even last year the prime minister was still claiming it had all been worthwhile, promising to stand with Libyans “every step of the way”.

But three years after Nato declared victory, Libya is lurching once again towards civil war. Over the past few days, the CIA-linked General Hiftar launched his second coup attempt in three months, supposedly to save the country from “terrorists” and Islamists. On Sunday, his forces stormed the national parliament in Tripoli, after 80 people were killed in fighting in Benghazi two days earlier.’

And now with rumours that the US Government is behind the boko Haram uprising in oil and minerals rich Nigeria it looks as if once again the FUKUS axis is preparing to leave behind unfinished business as it moves on to its next target for destabilisation.

We Haven’t Mentioned Libya For A Bit – Time For A Quick Look

Little Nicky Machiavelli’s blog seems to have become the place for reporting war and civil conflict in Jenny Greenteeth’s ever expanding media empire. While our attention has been focused on Syria, Mali, Ukraine and other places we have not forgotten the first domino to fall in the global elite’s war on national sovereignty, Libya.

Though you may not have heard much from Libya in mainstream media, this does not mean that in the wake of a FUKUS axis regime change campaign of bombing and supplying weapons to psychopaths which brought down the unpleasant but effective Gaddafi regime, an Obama worshipping, gay rights obsessed ‘liberal’ democracy has emereged in its place.

Time we had a quick look at the current situation to remind ourselves that (a) the people who want to depose the government are not automatically the good guys and (b) just because local tyrants like Gaddaffi and Assad are shits, this does not mean there aren’t bigger shits waiting to replace them.

The Libyan Bedlam: General Hifter, the CIA and the Unfinished Coup

from URUKNET.INFO
On Friday, Feb 14, 92 prisoners escaped from their prison in the Libyan town of Zliten. 19 of them were eventually recaptured, two of whom were wounded in clashes with the guards. It was just another daily episode highlighting the utter chaos which has engulfed Libya since the overthrow of Muammar Ghaddafi in 2011.

Much of this is often reported with cliché explanations as in the country’s ‘security vacuum’, or Libya’s lack of a true national identity. Indeed, tribe and region seem to supersede any other affiliation, but it is hardly that simple.

On that same Friday, Feb 14, Maj. Gen. Khalifa Hifter announced a coup in Libya. “The national command of the Libyan Army is declaring a movement for a new road map” (to rescue the country), Hifter declared through a video post. Oddly enough, little followed by way of a major military deployment in any part of the country. The country’s Prime Minister Ali Zeidan described the attempted coup as “ridiculous”.

The Truth About Western Humanitarian Intervention In Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan

Just occasionally us truth tellers have to deal with a fully paid up, card carrying member of the idiots union. Yesterday for example, a comment on Little Nicky’s post about Libya sliding towards civil war as a result of the botched intervention by the FUKUS axis attracted a comment from some plank who wanted to tell me it was nonsense to suggest that “Gadaffi kept the peace”. Well it would have been wrong to apply that phrase but regular readers know Little Nicky would never use such a mealy mouthed, limp wristed, wussy, pink knicker wearing phrase.

Gadaffi was a brutal dictator who maintained a kind of order by suppressing brutal, bloodthirsty, fanatical factions who would otherwise been in a state of permanent civil war. Big difference, and the reason why most Libyans wish Gaddafi was still in charge.

Here for the benefit of cliche spouting idiot lefties who think ancient hatreds can be resolved by telling people to join hands and sing Kumbaya, is a snapshot of the “peace” that has reigned in three nations after western intervention removed brutal dictators.

If you are a stupid leftie who wants to tell me how mean and horrible I am for telling the truth about the total failure of Kumbayaism, don’t bother, just fuck the fucking fuck off. I am not interested in anything morons have to say.

The bloody disaster of Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan is laid bare

from Simon Jenkins in The Guardian

‘Forty-three people died on Friday in clashes between militias in Libya, as did 22 on Sunday from bombs in Iraq. In Helmand, a return of the Taliban to power is now confidently expected. Why should we care? Why should it feature on our news?

The answer is that we helped to bring it about. Britain’s three foreign wars in the past decade were uninvited military interventions to topple installed governments. All have ended in disaster.

In each case – Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan – it was easy to see evil in the prevailing regime. These are bad guys that we need to go after, said the Americans. Yet the removal of law and order from a nation is devastating, however cruel that order may have been. Iraqis today repeat that, whatever the ills of Saddam Hussein, under his rule most ordinary citizens and their families could walk the streets at night without fear of murder or kidnap. Religious differences were tolerated. Iraq should have been an oil-rich modern state. Even the Kurds, scourged by Saddam in the past, enjoyed autonomy and relative peace.’
