An Excellent Response From A Brexiteer

One thing that more than anything else has hardened attitudes of people who voted to leave is the way supporters of Remain have constantly attacked us, accusing those who wanted out of the authoritarian bureaucratic dictatorship the EU has become, of being stupid, bigoted, xenophobic, old idiots.

In spite of these accusations it has been mainly the Remain supporters who have not been able to argue their case, instead they simply repeat the insults and parrot the EU / Globalist propaganda. Leave supporters, however, tend to be more thoughtful and well informed.

I felt I had to reblog this question from Quora, and the excellent answer to it froman Oxford PhD:

UK citizens, how did you feel waking up to the news that you were out of the EU?

Answer from: Alun ap Rhisiart, D.Phil in Zoology from Oxford University

French Government Accused Of Trying To Delay Elections.

There are some people who year to live under an oppressive global dictatorship, they delude themselves that they are part of the elite (in reality they are the modern equivalent of Stalin’s useful idiots)and think their interests are served by sucking up to authority.

Such people are always eager to repeat the establishment lie that everybody in Europe apart from we British and a few right wing extremist fringe parties are wildly enthusiastic about merging all the EU member states into a federal European superstate which would in turn be crushed under the U.S. jackboot.

It is not so of course; I’ll give links to the rise of anti EU feeling in Europe at the end but first here’s a story on how fearful the French government of Francois Hollande is of the anti – immigration Front National, the party currently topping opinion polls in France.

from Le Parisien

The Elysee Denies Considering A Change To Regional Elections

The Presidency of the Republic {of France] has denied rumours that President Hollande wishes to move the regional election from December to October, 2015 so the vote does no coincide with the annual climate conference at which the French government and EU leadership are likely to committ to measures hugely unpopular with voters. A further rumour, that to avoid a clasah of dates the elections will be held on another weekend in December has not been responded to.

Le Parisien Asked this morning (21 December, 2014) about a possible advance of the date of the regional elections, the entourage of Francois Hollande flatly denies any change in the electoral calendar. “It is totally false and unfounded. The law (on the creation of new regions,) which has been passed provides that elections will take place in December 2015, they will therefore take place in December 2015,” continues the Elysee.

Matignon, the First Minister’s office, also denied the information.

Therefore no question of changing the rules of the game as is implied in a “Sunday Journal” story which states it is the wish of the Head of State to advance the elections in October 2015, rather than let elections take place at the same time as the conference on climate. From 30 November to 13 December 2015, dozens of heads of state and government must indeed meet in Paris to find an agreement against global warming.

This change is “distressing” and “implausible”, commented Christian Jacob, president of the UMP in the National Assembly,on Sunday morning. which on I-Tele referred to the fact that a change of date to another month would require a new law.

If the regional elections are held in December, the precise date of the weekends during which the election will be held is not against still unknown. The schedule of departmental elections remains unchanged: they will take place on 22 and 29 March 2015.

Under the article Hocrap commented:

If I understand, for the left, delay will not be enough, it is better to cancel all elections for the next century if they still want to enjoy a bit of power.
(Si j’ai bien compris, pour la gauche, retarder ne sera pas suffisant, il faut mieux annuler toutes les élections pour le siècle à venir si ils veulent encore jouir un peu du pouvoir.)

Words which reflect the feelings of many French voters.

So is this an unfounded rumour or, more likely given the recent track record of Hollande and his government, have they been caught with their pants down again and are now having to back pedal furiously.

Either way the socialists are likely to get another hammering from parties of the right in the vote.

TTIP Trade Deal Will Be A Disaster For Democracy And British Economy

Analysts looking at the far reacing effects of the Trans Atlantic Trade And Investment Partnership (TTIP) have concluded that the controversial agreement negotiated between US and EU officials in conditions of such complete secrecy that even elected representatives of voters in EU member nations have not beel allowed to know what it provisions contains could become an absolute disaster for the British economy.

Brussels Euronazis: Cognitive Dissonance Or Rothschild Agents

The hypocrisy being shown by the EU’s ruling cliques over the Crimea referendum is gobsmacking.

European Union mouthpieces have characterized the Crimean vote to join Russia as “undemocratic” and “illegal.” Their position is gobsmackingly hypocritical to say the least given that the EU ignored the wishes of voters in member nations France and The Netherlands when they rejected the European Constitution which laid the foundation for a Federal Alliance, aka the single European state. The European Union simply re-named the Constitution a revised treaty of incorporation and re-introduced it as the Lisbon Treaty, by – passing the need for referenda in all EU states except Ireland.

And when the Irish had the good sense to vote against this neo Fascist measure that would have transferred almost all sovereign powers of member states to unelected bureaucrats and reduced national assmblies to talking shops with only the power to rubber stamp bureaucrats decisions, the Euronazis told the Irish government that the democratic decision was not acceptable and another refererendum would have to be held.

In the time it took to organise that, the European central Bank and the IMF turned the screws and trashed the Irish economy.

Following Sunday’s Crimean referendum in which people in the Black Sea peninsula voted 97% in favor of becoming part of the Russian federation. Crimea was a semi autonomous part of Ukraine until the coup d’etat sponsored by the EU and USA which deposed a democratically elected government and replaced it with a puppet regime. The EU responded to the result of the democratic process in typical manner by declaring it illegal and slapping sanctions on 21 Russian and Ukrainian officials.

That’s standard operating procedure for the European Union which only believes in democracy when the voters deliver the result the authritarian bureaucrats want; which habitually shows its contepmt for citizens by ignoring popular votes and referendums if it doesn’t like the result, but presumes to pontificate on the legality of the democratic process in non EU nations which it hopes to absorb into its already bloated body corporate.

Do your bit to fight Euronaziism, vote UKIP in May.

BBC Admits Right Wing Extremists Led ‘Revolution’ In Ukraine

A BBC Newsnight report sub titled, “Neo-Nazi threat in new Ukraine,” reveals anti – Semitic and anto Russian nationalists armeded by the west (FUKUS axis) and led the mobs in Kiev. This is a direct contradiction of the months of Western media narratives portraying the “revolutionaries” as brave freedom fighters who only aspired to live in a progressive democracy where gay rights were given greater priority than sorting out the crippled economy. The rebels call for “freedom,” “democracy,” and “closer ties with the West,” with the most absurd example being the “I am Ukrainian” propaganda reel were just fictions invented by “Drop The Dead Donkey” style european and American reporters who believe their job is to make the news rather than simply report it.

As with the West’s support of sectarian terrorists across the Middle East, including Al Qaeda and those “progresive liberal” human organ noshing extremists in Syria and the Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Egypt who showed their support for liberal justice by carrying out summary roadside crucifixions of Coptic Christians, UK, EU and US agents found the most despicable elements in Ukrainian society to lead “revolution” for the sociopolitical reordering of Eastern Europe.

As the dust settles and the West’s proxy regime finds itself safely entrenched in Kiev, Ukraine – the Western media can now finally recuperate some of its lost legitimacy after months of denying the obvious – that armed Neo-Nazis led the so-called “Euromaidan” uprising.

Far from a “pro-democracy” uprising, the “Euromaidan” was yet another case of Western engineered regime change leveraging the good intentions of the ill-informed to mask the covert backing of ugly armed extremists, just as it had done all across the similarly engineered “Arab Spring” in 2011.

We are at war, but not with Islam, China, Iran or Russia, our enemies are our own governments and elites.

Democracy In Retreat In The EUSSR

Democracy, the principle of government of the people, by the people, for the people seems to be on the backfoot Europe, and it’s under attack from those who most loudly claim to be “democrats” and yell most loudly about fairness and democracy, the meritocratic left, felllow travellers of New Labour elitists Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson.

In the past few days unelected EU foreign policy chief, Baroness Ashton (apopinted by Blair), was discussing the future government of Ukraine with the new unelected Ukrainian “president,” Aleksandr Turchynov, who came to power following a violent overthrow of that country’s democratically elected president in a coup d’etat sponsored by the EU and USA.

The proclamation of a foreign-backed coup d’état and imposition of an unelected pr – EU government in a country where fresh elections were only 12 months away as a “victory for democracy” was typical of the Orwellian doublethink these undemocratic lovers of democracy favour.

The wishes of the 2 million people who marched against the Iraq war in London in February 2003 were arrogantly dismissed, but the protesters in Maidan, though far fewer in number and not representative of a majority of Ukranians, simply had to have their way because they unknowingly favour the political forces pushing towards global totalitarian government.

Ukraine, though a dramatic example, is not the only European country where democracy has been suspended in recent months. In February, Matteo Renzi became Italy’s third successive unelected prime minister. You’ve actually got to back as far as 2008 for the last time an Italian prime minister was democratically chosen by the Italian people.

Greece, to all intents and purposes is under direct rule from Brussels and the governments of Spain and Portugal retain little of the autonomy sovereign nations should take for granted.

The reason this dedemocratization has been pulled off without massive bloodshed is because of the evil Single Currency System, The Euro. Half the population of the Eurozone is dependent on handouts courtesy of the German taxpayers. If the German’s get fed up and topple Angela Merkel’s fragile coalition, get ready for fireworks.

So Much For Progress On Syria

After recent meetings with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, both USA Secretary of State John (Lurch) Kerry and UK Prime Minister David Cameron returned claiming they were more optimistic about replacing the regime of the Dictator Assad with a western style liberal democracy ( under Sharia law acceptable to all factions opposing Assad.

Little Nicky (posting here and as my alter egos Ian Thorpe, Ed Butt and Egbert Nobakon) told you that it was very dangerout to take anything the Russian leader said at face value and when little Vlad talked about the need to “work together” his likely meaning was “The west needs to back off and let Assad, with help from Russia and Iran, crush the rebellion.”

Today I read this (from PressTV):
“Russia says Iran plays a key role in resolving the crisis in Syria, underlining the need for the participation of the Islamic Republic in an upcoming international conference on Syria in Geneva.

“While Moscow calls for [the] participation of more members including Syria neighboring countries, Iran and Saudi Arabia in the second round of talks [in Geneva], Washington is trying to decrease the number of these participating countries and replace them with those countries who are supporting the militant groups in Syria,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV on Monday.

At a joint press conference in Moscow on May 7, the Russian foreign minister and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed to encourage the Syrian government and the foreign-backed militants to find a political solution to the crisis.

When Russia talks of co operation they have always meant everybody doing what suits Russia.

Iraq Civil War: I Told You So Again

When will you learn, all you nay sayers, when wil all those Ivory Tower dwelling academics and experts learn.

“We toppled the tyrant Saddam and broght freem’an’moxy (copyright George Dubya Bush) to Iraq they said.

Iraq will fragment and drift into tribal and secartian, many sided civil war Little Nicky Machiavelli said. Well having observed the baser instincts of human nature for over 500 years, us Machiavelli’s know a thing or two about tyranny, brutality and man’s inhumanity to man. And that is why, while being aware of how awful tyrants like Saddam, Gaddafi and Assad are, I knew that what was put in their place by the join-hands-and-sing-fucking-kumbaya brigade would be far worse.

FROM THE INDEPENDENT:

“Iraqi leaders fear that the country is sliding rapidly into a new civil war which “will be worse than Syria”. Baghdad residents are stocking up on rice, vegetables and other foodstuffs in case they are prevented from getting to the shops by fighting or curfews. “It is wrong to say we are getting close to a civil war,” said a senior Iraqi politician. “The civil war has already started.”

This is borne out by the sharp rise in the number of people killed in political violence in Iraq in April, with the UN claiming more than 700 people were killed last month, the highest monthly total for five years.

The situation has suddenly deteriorated since the killing of at least 36 Sunni Arab protesters at a sit-in in Hawijah on 23 April. An observer in Baghdad, who did not want to be named, said “ever since, Hawijah people are frightened of a return to the massacres of 2006”. She added that Sunni and Shia were avoiding going into each others’ areas. Signs of deteriorating security are everywhere. Al-Qa’ida showed its reach on Monday when five car bombs blew up in overwhelmingly Shia southern Iraq, leaving 21 dead. The Sunni fundamentalist group, which had a resurgence in 2012, is responsible for killing a majority of the almost 1,500 Iraqis who have died in political violence so far this year.

Its members are now able to roam freely in Anbar province where a year ago they were a secretive underground movement. In neighbouring Kirkuk, al-Qa’ida last week seized the town of Sulaiman Bec, shot the chief of police, stormed the police station and departed with their weapons after agreeing a truce with the Iraqi army.

Residents in Baghdad say that soldiers, whom they claim are Shia militiamen in uniform, have massed around Sunni enclaves in the city and are setting up checkpoints. Memories of the sectarian civil war in 2006 and 2007 when, in the worst months, some 3,000 people were butchered, may be exacerbating the sense of threat, but old fears are reawakening. Bombs have usually been directed against Shia in the past, but in recent weeks Sunni mosques and cafés are being targeted. “Before we could escape to Syria, but with the violence there where can we go?” asked one Iraqi. “There is no way out.” ”

I Would Do Anything To Get Assad Out Of Syria Says Cameron

Syrian president Bashar Assad could be allowed a free pass to flee his country if it would end the bloodshed, David Cameron said today. The Prime Minister said he would do ‘anything to get that man [Assad] out of the country’ but refused to offer Assad a safe haven in Britain.

Mr Cameron is on the second day of a tour of the Gulf and Middle East, where he has faced criticism for trying to sell UK arms to countries with questionable human rights records. Now there’s irony for you, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, Iran and the Emirates criticizing us for doing business with countries that have poor records on human rights. Pity Maggie Thatcher gave away all our oil and we have to rely on those bastards.

Mr. Cameron has also publicly backed the Arab Spring uprisings, which began in Tunisia and also saw governments swept aside and replaced by undemocratic Islamist regimes in Libya, Egypt and Yemen. In Syria there have been bloody battles for more 18 months, with tens of thousands of protestors killed by government forces and tens of thousands of Assad supporters killed by bloodthirsty religious fanatics brave freedom fighters.

While the fighting continues in Syria the nation’s fate is expected to top the agenda for the two G20 leaders.

In an interview with Al Arabiya television the warmonger Cameron was asked what he would say if President Assad said he wanted a safe exit. He told : “Anything, anything to get that man out of the country and to have a safe transition to democracy in Syria.

Like all other western leaders, when it comes to foreign affairs Cameron is a cupid stunt for thinking the wests interests will be served by getting rid of the secular Muslim Assad and replacing him with a regime of Islamic fanatics who hate the west and want to impose Sharia law in their homelands. Getting rid of Mubarak in Egypt, Gaddafi in Libya and Saddam in Iraq has really turned those nations into beacons of democracy and enlightened liberal values hasn’t it?

Were Cameron to get his wish all it would mean is a brutal dictator would be gone. Syria would them simply descend into tribal and sectarian civil disorder.

Unless of course the New World Order get their wish and make Syria a colony of Greater Europe.

Even the lefties at The Guardian now accept Little Nicky is never wrong.

Do you remember, loyal readers (all two of you) the stick Little Nicky took when this blog said the west should keep it’s nose out of the civil conflict in Syria.

“Oh no,” the leftie sheeple bleated, “the west must intervene in support of the brave freedom fighters who want to overthrow the nasty consertvaive tyrant Assad and establish democratic rule, yooman rights and politically correct values in a multicultural system under Sharia law.

Then they departed singing their campaign song,

Yoo – man ri -ights, yoo -man ri – ights, we’ll support you evermore.”

The west’s leaders were lining up behind the wannabe global tyrant, Barack Hussein Obama, ready to engage in the kind of warfare favoured by the warmonger in chief Obama, that of sending unmanned drones to conduct an aerial bombardment unarmed civilians in the cause of bringing yooman rights to everyone in Syria except for those killed by the drones, when Russia and China stepped up to the mark.

“Oi, Bammy you jug eared streak of piss,” they said, “Assad is our mate, you want to fight him, you fight us too.”

Wee Mad Amadinejad in Iran squeaked “I second that.”

All of a sudden the idea of intervening did not seem quite so attractive. Suddenly the voices that had warned against intervention, that been telling you Assad might be a twat but the rebels were worse as they were Islamists who intended to set up a theocracy, were being listened to.

The conflict escalated. Obama could not resist meddling and started arming the rebels via borderline terrorist state Turkey’s border with Syria. Russia armed Assad. The civilians caught betwen the ruthless, well armed regime and the equally ruthless, slightly less well arned “freedom fighters” were slaughtered. And slowly the world started to get the message,. “You can’t impose politically correct values and bureaucratic dictatorship on people who do not desire it. Overthrowing tyrannical bastards is the easy part (so long as they are not best mates with Russia and China) Replaceing them with something better and winning the hearts and minds of the people is a different story.

The Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail came over to Little Nicky’s view quite quickly, The Times followed and the Indy has wavered. Even the BBC started to broadcast less biased reports. Security analyst Charles Shoebridge, congratulated the Beeb on a report that “shows Syria rebel fighters bringing chaos, terror, death, and [the] fear of Islamist extremism to Aleppo”.

Total victory over the dark forces of politically correct stupidity came when The Guradibi mercenaries woran ran a fire – and – brimstone – preacher style piece portraying the Syrian opposition as neo-con stooges of the Bilderberg group. (Not quite true, some are Bilderberg Group cannon fodder, some Al Qaeda mercenaries working for shadowy fundamentalists groups and some are local gangsters on the make.)

The slaughter would have happened on an even bigger scale had the west overthrown Assad and allowed the rebels to slaughter members of Assad’s tribe to stop them launching a counter revolution and slaughtering the Syriac Christians who make up about 10% of the 20 million population because it’s what you do.

Little Nicky’s message was, is and always will be: Meddling in things we don’t understand usually ends up achieving the opposite of what was intended.

Manifesto For A Global Democracy

Found this on Annarky’s blog today:

Manifesto for a global democracy

Here’s an extract:

Politics lags behind the facts. We live in an era of deep technological and economic change that has not been matched by a similar development of public institutions responsible for its regulation. The economy has been globalized but political institutions and democracy have not kept pace. In spite of their many peculiarities, differences and limitations, the protests that are growing all over the world show an increasing discontent with the decision-making system, the existing forms of political representation and their lack of capacity for defending common goods. They express a demand for more and better democracy.

Global welfare and security are under threat. The national and international order that emerged from the end of World War II and the fall of the Berlin Wall has not been able to manage the great advances in technology and productive systems for the benefit of all humanity …

Now my feeling is that something like this would be too easily usurped by the dark forces pushing the idea of global totalitarian government based on George Orwell’s Oligarchic Collectivist system. Democracy would be as meaningful worldwide as it has become in the EU where a democratic vote that goes against what the bureaucrats in Brussels want is simply ignored and the voters are told, “You gave the wrong answer, you must vote again.”

Any idea that prompts people to abandon their interia, give up on the Dr, Panglos philosophy that “All Is For The Best In This The Best Of All Possible Worlds” and start thinking about what kind of furure we are handing to our children and grandchildren is worth looking at.

Ah buut then, while I know true Anarchy is a political philosophy that could not work in the real world (like Marxism, socialism, fascism, conservatism and corporatism) I am a classical liberal which is about as close to anarchy as a political system involving gover nment can get.

Egypt, Islam and Democracy

The military are still the power behind the throne in Egypt despite the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in the Presidential election. They appear to have learned a lesson from events in a Algeria over two decades ago. In December 1991, an Islamist party calling itself the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) won an outright majority in the first round of Algeria’s parliamentary election. The army immediately responded by cancelling the second round of the contest, which would have taken place in January 1992. Algeria’s ruling military council then mounted a thinly disguised coup that sealed their dominance of Algerian politics.

Since, the “Algeria option” has become shorthand for preventing Islamist parties from actually taking power even if they happen to win elections. It has also become shorthand for bloodshed, folly and failure. The Algerian army’s catastrophic decision forced the country’s Islamist movement underground, rendered it far more extreme and compelled its leaders to take up arms. The result was a terrible civil war which, by the turn of the millennium, had claimed 100,000 lives. Although much abated, this conflict continues to this day. Meanwhile, some of Algeria’s Islamists allied with al-Qaeda and helped to form a terrorist organisation that has now spread across a swathe of Africa.

So the Egyptian generals did not go so far as to rob Mohammed Morsi, a pillar of the Muslim Brotherhood, of his victory in the presidential election. They will allow him to take office, while seeking to constrain his power and solidify their own role, to the extend of overturning the results of parliamentary elections and appointing members to the assembly.

But thery have not ignited the highly volatile situation by simply installing their man as President. Such comtempt for the electorate could have triggered civil conflict. It is worth noting that the President elect, who has not taken office yet, has already said he wants closer ties with the Shi’ite regime in Iran. We cand only wait to see how the Sunni dominated Egyptian military will react to that.

All this again demonstrates why Little #Nicky has always been right to oppose intervention in the internal political affairs of middle eastern nations. They have their own ways of doing things which we do not understand. Intervention, no matter how well intentioned, in national conflicts, no matter how bloody, is far more likely to make things worse rather than better.

Despite The Debt Crisis Euro Nazis War On Democracy Goes On

While we are on the subject of the EU’s creeping fascism, Bruno Waterfield has also posted an interesting comment on Sp!ked, where he argues that the EU is doing everything it can to ensure that Ireland’s referendum on the new “fiskalpact” is stitched up before a vote is cast:

It has been little noted, but the treaty text contains an innovation, described by European diplomats as ‘a very unusual step’. As opposed to all other EU treaties, the fiskalpakt will enter into force when only 12 out the 17 Eurozone member state signatories have ratified it.

[…]Once upon a time, the EU operated on the principle that its rules must be agreed by all its members, through democratic ratifications held according to national principles. Today, individual nations and popular votes cannot be allowed to stand in the way of the EU, which is emerging as the instrument by which elites pit their statecraft and institutions against changing European societies.

[…] Even the previously euro-friendly François Hollande, the grey French Socialist leader, has become too much for the EU establishment. There have been reports of murky (and completely backfiring) pacts to sabotage his bid to win the French presidency. His crime is that he wants to renegotiate the same treaty that Ireland is voting on. France, one of the most powerful EU countries, is creating more ‘nervousness’ than Ireland, senior EU officials have told me. ‘If he wants to significantly renegotiate the pact on debt brakes or sanctions then that will stop the process of ratification in a number of countries. The French elections are a big worry for Germany’, said the senior European source.

You may remember last time there was a vote on a change in EU rules that affected the sovereignty of member nations, Irish voters, the only elctorate to be allowed an opinion due to their contritution’s clauses on national sovereignty, voted the proposal, The Lisbon Treaty, they rejected it. The Treaty was a thinly disguised version of the European Constitution, a document which would have trodden the sovereignty and cultures of member states into the mud of the first world war battlefields where so many millions died. The European Consitution had previouusly been thrown out by big majorities in France and The Netherlands with referenda in the UK, Germany and Sweden set to follow suit.

The smooth faced bureaucrats are not really in denial about the fact that further integration of nations is deeply unpopular with ordinary people eerywhere, they are now confident enough to openly display the contempt for democracy they have previousluy kept hidden.

The Arab Spring – Leopards and Spots. I Told You So

When Little Niucky questioned the wisdom of the west’s air war on Libya with it’s aim not of preventing a massacre in Benghazi as the UN resolution permitted (a couple of Tiger Moths could have done that – well, if they had been backed up by a few Apache helicopter gunships that is) some readers were quick to point out what an evil tyrant Gadaffi was.

Well yes, he was. A scumsucking son of a pox whore’s scab louse in fact. But that was not a good reason to support an uprising by a rag bag coalition of tribal factions, Al Qaeda terrorists and and religious fanatics that could not possibly have succeeded without western support.

At the time Little Nicky warned that the likely outcome of our support for any of the so called Arab Spring uprisings would not be to oust unpleasant regimes such as Gadaffi, Mubarak in Egypt, Assad in Syria or the long winded President Zine El Abedine Ben Ali in Tunisia and replace them with Goldman Sachs friendly western style crypto democracies.

Well the first democratic election spawned by the Arab Spring uprisings, in Tunisisa, has resulted in an overwhelming victory for the Islamist party, Ennahda, which may be making reassuring noises about a western style government but which campaigned on promises to impose Sharia law (not compatible with western social liberalism at all)

Ennahda was banned under Ben Ali because it planned to turn Tunisia into an Islamic theocracy. If leopards can change their spots, and I’ve heard they can’t, it does not happen that quickly. When the Ennahda leader and putative President Rachid Gannouchi went to cast his vote last weekend he was greeted by shouts of “terrorist.”

Apparently people who know the beast have their doubts about leopards and spots too.

As we look forward to the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood when Egypt holds its long awaited ‘democratic’ elections Little Nicky must once more, and with regret, say, “I told you so.”

Meanwhile I hear that in neighbouring Libya the civil war is about to reignite over arrangements for victory celebrations as rival factions in the Transitional Council argue about which brewery the piss up should be held in.

Obama looking for a proxy war on Syria

A friend of mine from Triond, syine1, posted an impassioned plea for an end to bigotry titled “I’m sick of bigoted generalistations“.

The web does of course bring out he worst in us. I have been told I am a bigot simply for questioning somebody’s firmly held convictions. When I pointed out what bigot meant he told me if he said I’m a bigot then I’m a bigot.

When I told him he was a solipsists he was very pissed off, even more so when he found out what it meant.

One of the problems stine referred to is in the US a lot of people at both ends of the spectrum do not understand democracy. At one site we both post on quite recently
there was a yelling match going on about same sex marriage. A state had voted to make same sex marriage illegal once more after gay activists tried to extend the law to force Christian churces to perform weddings for same sex couple.

The ‘liberals’ were quite happy for Muslims to be exempted but not Roman Catholics.
The nastiest argument in the thread centred on a notion that in a democracy the will of the majority is not paramount and when a popular vote makes the ‘wrong decision’ the government must step in and ‘do what is right’.
I have seen many examples of similar warped logic from the religious right too.
In a democracy the majority is always right as there are no absolutes of right or wrong. We in Europe, and among most people in the USA too, agree to abide by the will of the majority even if we as individuals do not agree. That is the price of personal liberty.

(My personal view on that is civil partnerships are in the domain of state. As for religious ceremonies, the decision should be left to the church involved with the understanding that if a church says no, it is within it’s rights and there can be no legal action. It is both intolerat and undemoctatic to place more importance on the feelings of the gay community than on those of churchgoers. Some churces are of cousrse happy to formalise same sex relationships)

Bigotry breeds bigotry. As British Prime Minister William Gladstone said in the 19th century when parliament was calling for a genocidal war on Afghan tribes that resisted British rule, “Gentlemen, I can assure you that in the eyes of God the life of an Afghan herdsman is as important as any of yours.”
I’m not in any way religious but I could not put the case any better than that.

California Gay Marriage ruling kills democracy

An appeal court ruling in favour of Gay Rights Groups and Single Sex Marriage points the way to yet another constitutional crisis in U.S.A.

Oh well, Obama sems to enjoy creating one every week.

When an appeal court Judge who also happens to be a gay activist overturned a democratically approved law banning same sex marriage in the U.S. State of California it was hailed as a victory for gay rights and a defeat for religious prejudice. That may be so, but it is also a defeat for democracy, justice and sanity. Since when did the demands of minority ‘rights’ campaigners trump the will of the majority expressed through the ballot box?

Catholic Child Abuse – Left’s Double Standard Showing Again

One thing the self styled “progressive left” can be relied upon to deliver is …. (no, not election promies, don’t be silly) … hypocrisy.

Little Nicky Machiavelli and my chums at The Daily Stirrer have always been highly critical of the Roman Catholic Church’s attempts to sweep under the carpet cases of child abuse by its priests.

Child abuse is a terrible thing both when its involves the violation of a young child and when it relates to the seduction of a prepubescent girl by a middle aged man. Thus we deplore the Church’s cover up of their priests’ crimes and we also deplore cases in which a wealthy, famous man takes advantage of a thirteen year old girl.

It is here we part company with the “progressive left” because they seem to think if the seducer is an artist, a director of stunningly up-his-own-arse films and a supporter of the crackpot ideas of “progressive left” politics called Roman Polanski it is perfectly OK to commit statutory rape on an under age girl.

Not only are the “progressive left” supporting Polanski’s attempts to return to the USA thirty years after he fled American justice having entered a plead of guilty to the crime he was accused of, they are clamouring for a Presidential pardon for him.

Ah, but it is alright for Polanski to do such thinks. American leftie air-head, feminist and race hustler Whoopi Goldberg says “What Roman did was not rape rape.” No? Well what kind of rape was it?

Other stars supporting Polanski include Martin Scorsese, Kevin Costner, Susan SArandon and the Fuckwit Of Fuckwits Woody Allen. These people have sent a petition to Barack Obama on behalf of the director. Polanski, you see, was so talented, so special, mortal laws could not apply to such a genius. Yeah right.

Funny, I do not remember this group being so sympathetic towards Gary Glitter. I don’t remember them calling for clemency in the case of a footballer accused of seducing under age girls. I do not recall much support for actor and comedian Chris Langham when he was found to have been visiting child sex sites on the internet. What I do recall is the neo – nazi left howling for blood. No punishment was great enough for the perpetrators of these terrible crimes. In much the same way they are howling for the blood of Pope Benedict now evan as they demand our indulgence for the child – fucker Roman Polanski.

If we are to have rule of law one guiding principle must be honoured.

SAME RULES APPLY

A group that want to apply draconian laws to its opponents but exempt those with whom it sympathises from such rules has nothing to offer a democracy.

You Must Never Question Authority #1

The threat of creeping totalitarianism grows. Today I learned of a move in the European Parliament to banih Europsceptic MEPs from debates by denying them the funds needed to ensure their case is heard.

There is also a plan afoot to vet questions asked in the parliament and to block those that question the fedralist line from being raised.

Are you prepared to let YOUR elected representatives be treated as lackeys by the dark forces of federalism. So far of the British parties, Labour are for all moves to banish political opposition, the Lib Dems, Greens and UKIP (now there’s an unlikely threesome) are against and the Conservatives are vacillating.

join the fight. Look up these blogs, get involved, spread the word. Big Brother is alive and well, he lives in Brussells and he wants to send British democracy to room 101.

Jesus Camp and other stuff

Anyone who has not looked at today’s Boggart Blog yet should check out my article on last night’s Channel 4 documentary Jesus Camp
and then read this unrelated but complimentary story from Amanda Marcotte at Pandangon about a teacher in the USA who was sacked for showing his class a simple conjuring trick. Christian parents accused him of wizerdry. The hypocrisy makes you puke.

Teacher sacked in USA after showing class a simple conjuring trick.

We Lost This Thing In February it looks as if Hillary Clinton has lost the race for the democratic Party Presidential candidacy. But has she a dirty trick or two up her sleeve. Knowing the Clinton’s reputation for political witchcraft I’m not ruling it out.

Deliberative Democracy and the scientific method go together like chocolate and vanilla. Pandangon again, this time on the way America’s liberals have let the Rabid Right define the political agenda.

The Party’s Over?

I guess few of us have been able to resist a smug chortle at the discomfort of Tony Blair this week, especially as it followed hot on the heels of an embarrassment for Hug-a-Hoodie Cameron. The Spinmeisters are coming unravelled.
But before we revel too much in the fact that Blair is about to be chucked out of office for doing something every Prime Minister since 1832 has done, we should think of the wider implications.
For decades Little Nicky has been arguing that Britain’s Parliamentary system with its official parties of government and opposition is undemocratic and breached the British constitution (yes ever unwritten constitutions can be breached)
How so?
The British Parliament is founded on the basis that elected representatives should put the interests of their constituents before loyalty to anything other than the nation itself. The political parties in Parliament operate in a way that requires MPs to put loyalty to party before anything else. The party whips offices are a blatant breach of everybody’s civil rights when they pressure MPs to toe the party line.
Under Blair’s premiership the flaw in this system has become very obvious as the party whips* (very appropriately titled considering the miasma of sex-sleaze surrounding both parties) have bribed, bullied and coerced junior members to support policies which put the interests of the American administration before those of either the British state or the residents (even the non – voting ones) of any constituency.
In future Little Nicky will be exhorting his rapidly growing band of followers to support The Greens, The Rainbow Alliance, The Monster Raving Looney Party, Independent candidates, UKIP (they’re a laugh), Respect or any other fringe candidate contesting any election in the UK. And if your only fringe candidate is a BNP supporter – well the least unacceptable option must be the Lib Dems because at least they support proportional representation, the system in which every vote counts.
It’s a system that favours the voters against the interests of the self-interest party and the “resistance-is-futile-you-will-be-assimilated” party.
Not only can we get the buggers out if we put our minds to it, we can make sure they never get back in.
